Breaking Par Program

At Summit Golf Foundation (SGF), our goal is to help youth "Break Par" through the game of golf.  In the Breaking Par program, SGF provides the tools to help youth build character, confidence, and a successful future.  Our goal is for our youth to use the foundational elements learned through the game of golf to rise above and "Break Par."

Examples of Life Skills we focus on:

  • Respect
  • Communication Skills
  • Problem Solving
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Goal Setting
  • Teamwork
  • Leadership

Breaking Par is broken into four different levels:

  • Base Camp
  • Approach
  • Crux
  • Summit

Students work their way through the levels, learning skills in both character development and golf that help them to grow in the program as well as in life.

Students entering the program begin in Base Camp until they gain the skills and knowledge to move on to the next level. The levels are designed to build a strong foundation of golf fundamentals as well as positive character traits.

To complete each level, participants must complete an assessment to test their written and oral knowledge in addition to completing specific golf skills objectives.
